Location: The road deviating to left (former Ankara highway) after the Sapca Tunnel on the Zonguldak-Ankara motorway leads to Cayirliköy; passing by the Sapca and Güdüllü villages. The cave is reached by a small pathway leading to the mills before the village.
Geography and Environment: The Cayirliköy Cave was formed within the Visean aged Yilanli Formation; This formation; which comprises the oldest karstic rock of the survey area consists of limestones; dolomitic limestones and dolomites. The waters of Sofular and Egridere sink into the entrance mouth of the Cayirköy cave; progressing 104 m in the underground and draining from Cayirköy. The entrance starts with a vertical descent about 30 m; and ends up with a siphon 500 m after. Progressing horizontally with lakes; it has a deep lake at the end.
