Geography and Environment: The dimensions of the rock-shelter and its geological features are not reported.
History:
Research and Excavation: This rock-shelter was discovered and excavated by Enver Bostanci. Bostanci probably chose this particular rock-shelter from among many in the area because the surface by the entrance yielded many artifacts. The excavation was a jointly conducted with the help of Berna Alpagut. In the test trench with a thick fill deposit; a layer of Classical material was exposed before Upper Palaeolithic material culture was reached. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It was visited during the survey conducted by E. Güleç and her team in 2011.
Stratigraphy:
Small Finds: Although Bostanci does not provide detailed information on the artifacts; he does inform us that all the chipped stone finds are flint. Photos or drawings have not yet been published. During the survey carried out by E. Güleç and her team in 2011, no evidence indicating a fill was encountered inside the cave. However, flintstones were found around the cave. Dülük 2 is located next to Sarkli Cave in the east of Dülük Village. The fields in the north and west of the cave yielded flintstones [Güleç et al. 2013:258]. It was assumed that the findings recovered from Dülük belong to the period between Lower and Middle Palaeolithic [Dinçer 2010:82].
