The round; 15-20 m high mound; measuring 125 m in diameter; lies south of Adiyaman; 1 km northwest of Bozhöyük Mahallesi. It was discovered by C.A. Burney in 1956. All kinds of Chalcolithic Age ware observed in Eastern Anatolia were found at the site. Halaf; Halaf-Ubaid Transition Phase; Ubaid; Uruk and contemporary with Uruk Periods are thought to be existent at the site. The mound dates to the 7th phase in ASPRO. According to Mellaart; Bozhöyük is among the Middle Halaf Period settlements. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It was visited during the survey conducted by S. Ezer and his team in 2013. Pot sherds belonging to the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC were found on the surface [Ezer et al. 2015:179].
