The cave resides 10 km Northeast of Refahiye County of Erzincan City and is in the West of Erzincan-Sivas Highway. It is visited in 2009 during the survey executed by Y. Topaloğlu. The cave is on the Northern slope of Dumanlı Mountain, and it has been inhabited during the later centuries. The cave is handmade and features a round arc at the entrance. Soil is used for mortar in the construction of this arc. The settlement is built by expanding the cave in the main rock. The settlement is divided into two parts towards the West and the East, climbing to the top of the main rock through a steep slope. There is an elliptical area in the part heading West. Its limestone-made steps have eroded. Architectural buildings are constructed at the top of rock stairs. A flat area is created on the upper part of the cave which is since then used for settlement. Another settlement is created heading East that is higher and steep. This settlement is a cave settlement which opens up against Euphrates River (Karasu). There are many carvings and niches in the lower part of which the purposes are not yet known. There is one more settlement in the Eastern side facing West which is believed to be the main settlement. A niche is created in the higher part of the cave heading West which stands at 1 m high, 4 m long, and 50 cm deep (at some points down to 20 cm). Smaller niches also exist in the upper parts. This area is accessed through a gate featuring a round arc made of flagstones and river stones. There is a larger niche very close to the entrance in the West which is 2.60 m wide and 3 m high. The depth of this niche on the North end is 1.40 m and it is lessened gradually towards South and finally zeroed [Topaloğlu et al. 2011:5-6].
