Location: It is located near the Kilavuzlar Plateau in the high mountainous region 20 km north from Tarakli District which is 70 km south of Adapazari. |
Structural Properties and formation : It is a vertically developed; sinkhole type; fossil cave. It is situated on a fault in NW-SE direction; on the edge of an uvala in east-west direction. This uvala was separated by rows into dolines. The cave which is similar to a pit at the edge of the old basin of the uvala; and sinkhole type; has a Ğ11 m long steep descent. This chimney type developed descent ends in a hall which is 11x10 m. The basin of this hall is covered with soil; pebbles; and debris. The dripstone formation is almost none. It has no connections with surface and subsurface waters since it is a fossil cave which completed its development cycle. |
Research History: It was researched by the Geological Studies Department of MTA General Directorate; and published in 2002. |
