It lies in Celal Mevkii; 2.2 km north of Gümüsören (Firaktin) Village; southeast of Develi District; south of Kayseri Province. It is one of the five flat settlements similar to each other; locationwise and dimensionwise in the surrounding territory. It is reported that they have a cultural deposit of 50 -100 cm thick. A sounding rather than an excavation was carried out in one of those flat settlements in 1947 by T. Özgüç. EBA pottery; typical of Central Anatolia was recovered during that sounding. Samples identical to the white painted ware with a black washed or dark background found in the EBA levels of Ahlatlibel and Karaoglan were recovered [Özgüç 1948:262]. The local name of the site should have been found out and it should be identified with this local name. |
