| The surveys in the region were conducted with the sponsorship of TEKDAM and financial support of the Pennsylvania University in 1990. Iron Age sherds were found during the surveys alongside the Batman River and at Ramdenka Çay Mevkii. Furthermore, evidence from the vicinity of Baskale indicate that the site had been inhabited during the Iron Age. Iron Age artifacts were also found at Baskale, Herema Tarlasi and Giriharaba [Rosenberg 1992:448-453]. |
