It is situated southeast of the Bagdesen Plateau, north of the Bagdesen Village, 30 km west of Ardahan. The fortress was built on the promontory of a high mountain, being delimited by steep rocky cliffs on three sides. It consists of a citadel and a bailey. The citadel measures 17x25 m in dimensions, and it has a rectangular plan. It lies to the north. To the south of the fortress is an earlier settlement and remains of walls. The entrance gate is uncertain. Overall, it seems that the fortress was built during the Iron Age, losing its Iron Age architectural characteristics due to later modifications. However, it bears Urartian architectural features in terms of location and substructure.
