There are three tumuli approximately 3 km north of Kirklareli. These three tumuli at Asagipinar Mevkii were called Tumuli A, B and C. They are on a straight line. The Tumulus C is situated to the north. The investigations on tumuli in the Thrace Region were initiated by A.M. Mansel of the Turkish Historical Society in 1936, and lasted until 1940. The grave was disturbed and robbed before the excavations. Four back-to-back chambers, each with a barrel vault were found, and traces of red and blue painted frescos were observed on the lower part of the burial's bed and on the walls of the chamber. It was dated by Mansel to the 4th-3rd century BC based on architectural finds. The main grave chamber appears to be the fourth of the four successive rooms.
