It is situated on a hill on the skirt of the Süphan Mountain in the Adilcevaz District of Bitlis. It has an altitude of 2400 m. Located on a high spot, it is surrounded by rocks on all sides. The walls are very similar to the walls of the Kef Fortress. The average thickness of the walls is between 3 and 4 m. They were filled with small stones. There are no remains indicating presence of a settlement within the fortress. It is assumed that the fortress was built for sheltering purposes. It is an Urartian fortress based on its construction technique.
