It is situated on the Bilalusagi road next to the Kamikli Quarter of Elazig. It is a flat and low mound on the bank of a small flood bed. It has double cones on the higher west section. It covers an area of 120x70 m. The western cone is 70 m in diameter with a height of 5-6 m. It is being used as a meadow. The western cone has been heavily destroyed for treasure hunting, using a bulldoser. Besides, there are several pits related with illicit diggings and soil removal on the mound. Iron Age sherds were found in small amounts on the western cone, and in larger amounts on the eastern cone. It appears that the mound settlement was displaced westwards during the Iron Age, including a small village. |
