There is an oval hill named Kalkan Hill, approximately 120 m wide, and 200 m long, and 40-50 m high above the plain level, lying in north-south direction, approximately 2 km northeast of Hasköy. The south and east sections are linked with the plain by inclining. Mixed sherds were found on the hilltop and southern slope of the hill, which is in the form of an acropolis during the survey conducted by S. Basaran, and they were dated to the Classical and Roman Periods. Stone foundation remains were observed on the platform over the hill. Besides, a few graves were revealed during the construction of the country road inside the brushwood. The graves are north-south oriented in the form of simple pits dug in the ground, and topped by flat stone lids. Since no finds were available from the graves, dating was not possible. |
