It is situated 1.5 km southeast of the Çayirli District in Erzincan, probably within the boundaries of the Saraycik Village. The north and south sides of the mound, measuring 100x60 m in dimensions, are surrounded by river beds. The Iron Age and Medieval Age sherds were identified. The western section has been heavily destroyed due to removal of soil, exposing many bones during these illicit diggings. If measures are not taken soon enough to prevent its use as a quarry, the mound will entirely disappear. |
