It rests on an elevation called Diktastepe on the left side of the road to the Hasçiftlik Village of the Merkez District, 9 km northwest of Kars. The Sorgun Stream runs toward Kars, surrounding the mound to the north. The survey conducted by O. Özbek and B. Yükmen yielded many flintstone tools. On the northern section of the mound, some architectural remains have been exposed due to destruction. Ceramic finds that can be dated to a wide time frame together with some Iron Age material on the northern section indicate that it was settlement inhabited for shorter periods of time. Sherds dating to the Late Bronze Age and Early Bronze Age were identified. |
