It was discovered during the Survey on the Turkish Fortresses in the Thracian Region by I.H. Kurtulus in 1995. Lying 7 km far from the Erikler Village on the left side of the Kirklareli-Kofcas motorway, it was built on bedrock. It has an almost rectangular plan. A double fortification wall is observed to the east and south. The walls have been demolished. The walls were built without mortar using stone masonry, however a poor mortar as a mixture of loam mortar and clay-broken tiles are observed on some of the foundation remains belonging to the wall in the citadel. The remains may have belonged to a Thracian fortress, and used as monastery during the Byzantine Period. This suggestion has been supported by the main inner walls belonging to a later period and the late period period sherds collected from the surface.
