Some remains lying 2 km far from the Hamidiye Village on the left side of the Vize-Kiyiköy road were identified during the survey on the "Fortresses from the Turkish Period" conducted in the Thrace region in 1995 by İ.H. Kurtulus. Known as a fort by the local people, these remains naturally fortified by cliffs on southeast and northeast sections probably belong to a monastery. Although there is no extant wall, outlines of the wall can be traced as a protuberance. Based on these traces, it seems that the wall was made of rubbles. To the northeast and south runs a stream. Even tough the latest remains may have belonged to a monastery, it is likely that it was a Thracian fortress in earlier periods when the topographic characteristics of the region were taken into consideration.
