The fortress was surveyed by F.E. Cumont, V. der Osten, Von H. Gall and M. Özsait. It was identified as a Roman garrison. A limited number of Roman Period sherds were found as well as the Iron Age sherds dating to the 7th century BC, which suggest that the fortress may have been originally built during the Iron Age. |
