It lies 2 km east of Kültepe, 500 m east of the main road, northeast of Melekli in Igdir. The fortress with a rectangular plan made of eruptive rocks has a 3 m high gate facing the main road. With many traces of illicit diggings, plenty of ceramic data dating to the Early Bronze Age, Iron Age and Middle Age was found in the fortress. To the northwest of the fortress rises a horseshoe-like hollow stone. The fortress was named after this stone by the local people. |
