It lies 2.5 km northeast of the Asagibakarak Village in the Hacibektas District of Nevsehir. It is 115 m in diameter, and 20 m in height. It was discovered in 1990 during the Central Anatolian Survey conducted under the direction of S. Omura. Abundant number of thick red slipped and burnished EBA sherds were collected from the surface as well as limited number of MBA and Iron Age material. It was visited during the survey conducted by A. Türker in 2013. Türker stated that the mound is 237 m in diameter and about 25 m in height. Neolithic (?), Chalcolithic (?), EBA, MBA, IA and Middle Age potsherds were collected from the surface and the surrounding area. A dice-shaped stone tool that could be dated to IA and a loom weight, the head of which is conical and the body is triangle, belonging to IA (?) were found [Türker 2015:236]. |
