It is situated within the boundaries of the Yeniköy Village, 1.7 km north of the Beyköy intersection, immediate west of the Adana-Karatas motorway, south of Adana. With a height of 3 m, and a diameter of 100 m, it is a small flat mound. A surface collection was performed in 1951 by M.V. Seton-Williams during the Cilician Survey. Although it should be called Tanriverdi Höyügü due to the village nearby, it was called Tenevardi because of a misunderstanding by Gjerstad. It appears that it witnessed settlements during the Chalcolithic Age [Harmankaya et al. 1998:Tenevardi 1], EBA, 2nd Millennium BC and 1st Millennium BC [Seton-Williams 1954:130]. |
