It is situated in the Cendere Village, east of the Ilgaz District. The Kastamonu-Çankiri motorway passes through the western skirt of the mound. It was discovered by the Kastamonu Museum. It has a height of 30 m. The sherds revealed as a result of ploughing consist of sand-tempered, handmade, burnished sherds in red inside and outside. Also found are sand- tempered, wheelmade sherds in polished cream decorated with dark and light brown paints. According to A. Gökoglu, they are from the EBA, Phrygian and Roman Periods. They were re-evaluated by R. Matthews et al. in 1997. Consisting of two hills so called East Salman and West Salman, the West Salman is lower but larger while the East Salman is higher with a steep slope. Both hills had been inhabited during the Iron Age. A Phrygian architectural coating panel with a painted seated animal, probably a lion, relief was found on the East Salman. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
