It was reserched during the "2007 Lamsakos/Lapseki, Abydos and Çan Survey" in 2007. Although Cape Nara was claimed to contain a prehistoric settlement this was not proven by archaeological evidence. According to survey finds Cape Nara was not suitable for prehistoric survival conditions. Therefore the researches continued 300 m north of the cape on Tayyare Hill, outside the military zone. Tayyaretepe is righ on the shore of Dardanelles and there s a spring to the west. The hill has an inclination in the direction of the strait towards west. Traces of prehistoric inhabitance are observed on the hill and on the east hills. The fragments cover an area of 50x50 m. The entire group of sherds consist of manually formed ceramics from Late Chalcolithic and EBA. One of these fragments is black and burnished and contains herringbone patterns. The other specicmens do not contain decorations they are black-grey colored and burnished [Arslan 2009:333].
