It is located on the shore of the Aegean Sea, approximately 3 km north of the Odun Port, southwest of the provincial center of Çanakkale. It was discovered by the Cincinnati team, who conducted excavations at Troy, and J.M. Cook reports presence of Troy I sherds and limited number of Classical Period sherds. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It has been revisited during the survey conducted by Aslan in 2010. By now, Troia I ware has been known as the oldest material found in this settlement. Although surface material couldn't be collected in large quantity due to its surface being covered with plants and sand fill, potsherds belonging to earlier period of Troia I also were discovered. This settlement has great importance because of there are very few settlements belonging to earlier period of Troia I which are such close to the coastline in the Troad [Aslan 2012:151-152].
