It lies 1 km west of Avariz Village; about 10 km north of Edirne Province. It stands on a natural hill on the western bank of the Tunca River; in the area where the river meanders. The eastern bank of the river is covered with trees and the western bank with rice fields. To the east are rocky slopes. The mound is 150 m long in the east-west direction. It is 4 m high. It has been severely damaged by heavy cultivation. It was discovered during the Edirne survey conducted by B. Erdogu in 1995. Largely EBA material was collected from the surface. Also; limited number of material dating to the LBA and Early Iron Age was found. Black and gray colored; burnished EBA pottery bears all the characteristics of the Balkan ware. The EBA material of Düstübakyamasi is associated with Ezero; Macedonia and the levels 3A - 3B of Dikilitas; Bulgaria. It is situated north of the Ergene River. It is one of the major EBA settlements in the region.
