It is a large and flat mound lying on the roadside leading to the Avariz Village on the western bank of the Tunca River (Tundzha), approximately 4 km north of the provincial center of Edirne. To the southeast are facilities of the Çardakli Farm, and to the immediate south of the farm runs the Tunca River. The site so called Eski Degirmen Mevkii on which the settlement lies is also known as Eski Degirmen Yolu. Two secondary roads leading to Eski Degirmen cut through and destroyed the settlement. It was discovered in 1995 during the Survey of Edirne Province conducted by B. Erdogu. Other than material dating to the Early Bronze Age, material from the Late Bronze Age and beginning of the Early Iron Age were collected.
