It lies in the Hirfanli Dam Lake, approximately 4.5 km northeast of the Solak Usagi Village, 7 km east of the Evren District in Ankara. It was discovered in 1991 during the Surveys in Central Anatolia conducted under the direction of S. Omura. The skirts of the mound have been almost vanished due to water erosion. Many fallen wall stones are observed on the skirts of the mound. Together with these stones, many sherds dating to various periods, mainly to the 2nd Millennium BC, were collected from the surface. Also found are painted Early Phrygian sherds from the Iron Age, an animal-shaped foot of a rhyton, and a relief sherd from the Chalcolithic Period. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
