This site lies southwest of the city of Burdur; approximately 18 km north of the town of Yesilova; 2 km northwest of the village of Dereköy and 800 m south-southeast of Çorak Lake (also known as Akgöl Lake). The site; discovered by B. Race; is important because research conducted by J. Mellaart showed that many levels of this site resemble the Hacilar I finds. M. Özsait conducted archaeological research at the site in 1974; 1976 and 1982. The ceramics on the surface of the site have been assigned to the Late Neolithic-Early Chalcolithic and the Late Chalcolithic Periods. The first painted sherds of the Hacilar horizon style dating to the Late Neolithic-Early Chalcolithic were found at this site. The site is probably a Late Neolithic-Early Chalcolithic site although this claim should be viewed with skepticism. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
