It is located on a rocky natural hill in Akbas Sehitligi; 8 km north of Eceabat District; Çanakkale Province. It was discovered in 1964 by D.French. The material published by D.French is contemporary with Besiktepe-Kumtepe Ia. However; during the survey conducted by M. Özdogan in 1982; only pottery of EBA (Troy I) was collected from the surface. Akbas Sehitligi has been severely destroyed. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
