Location: This site is northwest of the city of Elazig and northwest of the town of Agin. The name Çiftlik does not appear on a 1:100;000 map.
Geography and Environment: The only geological information reported is that the site is approximately 1;000 m above sea level.
History:
Research and Excavation: The site was discovered by Kökten in 1969 during his survey of the sites and monuments in the Elazig and Tunceli provinces; which were threatened by the flooding of the Keban dam lake.
Stratigraphy:
Small Finds: Although Kökten reports that Palaeolithic flint tools were found at this site; he does not specify what part of this period they date to. The area was later revisited by Yalçinkaya who confirms that Çiftlik Yamaçlari is a Palaeolithic site but also does not assign the tools to a more specific period.
