The site lies south of Kastamonu; in Çatalkaya Mevkii of Haciömer Mahallesi of Akçakese village. Prehistoric ceramics were found in the soil of the illicitly dug pits near the east bank of Karacomak Dam. It was revisited by A. Özdogan; C. Marro and A. Tibet in 1995. The local museum officers claim that all the vessels; bone tools; beads made of copper and fresh water shells; tools made of obsidian were brought to the museum by the villagers. Çatalkaya Mevkii is presumed to be a Middle Chalcolithic Age settlement. The location code of the site is C 31/1. |
