One bifacial handaxe was found at the spot, that controls the valley 100-150 m south of the intersection of Degirmen Stream, and Yanarsu Stream which flow in the Ikiköprü County of Besiri District of Batman Province during the "Palaeolithic Age Survey in Ilisu Dam Reservoir Area" performed by H. Taskiran and M. Kartal in 2007. This bifacial tool was made of calcareous silica and swept a very long distance, it has the characteristics of Acheulean Period. Although the raw material is calcareous it was elaborately formed. Since it is the only tool inside the Yanarsu (Garzan) Valley and being the single bifacial tool it is a very important find. This bifacial tool belongs to Palaeolithic Age and was named "Besiri hand axe" (code S62/62) [Taskiran-Kartal 2009:401].
