It is situated west of a large area at 725 m altitude, known as Gözdere, approximately 1 km northeast of Kolay Pond 3 km northeast of Suluova in the Amasya Province. Gözdere spring which the location was named after is at the bottom of a 70 m deep cliff on the west skirt of the mound. It was discovered during the survey performed by M. Özsait et al. in 2007. Based on the condition of the survey finds the mound covers an area approximately of 200 m in diameter. It was inhabited during Late Chalcolithic, EBA, MBA and Iron Age. Besides the sherds, obsidian and flintstone blades were found [Özsait 2009:376].
