It is on the Köseli Stream's bank which composes a branch of Tigris River, it is 1 km south of Köserli Village of Bismil District in Diyarbakir Province. It was researched during the "Ilisu Project Ceramic Neolithic Settlements Survey" by H. Tekin et al. in 2007. The settlement was founded on a natural ridge and it is larger than 1.5 acres. "Chaff Tempered Chalcolithic" sherds were collected in addition to Late Assyrian sherds on Doruç surface which has 6 m of height. Particularly the slopes of the settlement contains Early Halafian Period sherds, besides Hassuna/Samarra type painted specimens which we are familiar with from Hakemi Use. Doruç, which represents Hassuna/Samarra culture, enlightens the connection between N. Syrie and Upper Euphrates of this culture. Hakemi Use was abandoned following the Hassuna/Samarra Period. But Doruç contains Halaf and Ubaid Periods as well. Doruç is the home to many cultures such as Hassuna/Samarra, Halaf and Ubaid cultures in Upper Euphrates Valley. Therefore it is of particular importance [Tekin 2009:282].
