It is situated approximately 1 km west of Altintepe District in Erzincan Province. It s name derives from a village nearby. It was found during the 2006 and 2007 surveys performed by M. Isikli et al. The mound which was located in a marshy place and meadows between Altintepe and Saztepe measures 140x220m lies in east-west direction and has a flat form. A large illicit digging on the hill contains culture deposit over 6 m of height. The sherds collected on and around the sherds showed that the settlement in the mound began during EBA and continued throughout Iron Age [Isikli 2009:257]. |
