It is situated south of the Karacaören Village in the Gölbaşı District of Ankara. It measures ca. 122 m long in north-south direction, and 130 m long in east-west direction with a height of 23 m. It lies on a natural hill, traces of stone foundations and illicit diggings are observed on the surface. It was discovered during the Central Anatolian Survey performed under the direction of S. Omura in 1992. The collected sherds belong to the MBA, LBA and Iron Age. It was investigated during the survey conducted by S. Omura in 2006. It measures 133 m long in the north-south direction, 168 m long in the east-west direction, with a heght of 19 m. Material from the MBA, LBA and Iron Age were collected from the surface [Omura 2008:214, 221]. |
