It is located within the borders of the Basköy Village in the Silopi District of Sirnak. The Tilkabin Stream runs by the mound, and encloses it from the south and west. To the immediate northwest of the mound lies the new quarter of the village. It was discovered by G. Kozbe et al. during the Sirnak Survey conducted in 2006. It measures 160 m long in the north-south direction, and 150 m long in the east-west direction. A moderate number of finds including sherds, obsidian and flint fragments, and fragment of a stone vessel were collected from the surface [Kozbe 2008:177]. The mound was revisited during the surveys conducted around Cizre-Silopi within the scope of Southeast Anatolia Project for the purpose of detecting the settlements which are expected to be flooded by a team under the direction of G. Algaze. MBA, LBA, IA and Hellenistic potsherds were seen on the surface.
