The peninsula where the centrum of the Egridir District is located on; to the northeast of the Isparta Province; lies on the farthest slopes of the Davras Mountain; 100 m south of the Isparta-Egridir motorway; 2 km northwest of Büyükgökçeli. The ruins were investigated in 1994-95 under the direction of M. Waelkens on behalf of the Leuven Catholic University; and remains of thick terrace walls and thick city walls were identified in the settlement dating to the Hellenistic-Roman Periods. M. Ozsait attempted to localize the ancient city of Bindaios to this site [Özsait 1999:79-80]. During the survey conducted by Özsait and his team in 2011, a rock-cut tomb was found on the northwest skirts of Kaleburnu. A mosaic with inscription was exposed due to illicit diggins and therefore, salvage excavations were initiated on the northeast slope of Kaleburnu Hill by Museum Directorate of Isparta. These excavations yielded remains of a basilica. The typeface on the mosaic indicates that the mosaic was made in 4th century AD [Özsait et al. 2014:230].
