The mound lies on the west bank of Halys; northwest of Samsun; and approximately 4 km west of Bafra district. In 1955; sherds in Late Chalcolithic Age wares of the Black Sea Region are collected from the settlement by C.A. Burney. These finds display parallels in form and ornament with those of Büyük Güllücek. Moreover; some burnished sherds are observed to have characteristics of black and gray wares; some with incision on the exterior and white paint decoration on the interior. Among other finds are rectangular vessels and hole mouth vessel sherds. The site is also known as Kuscular or Hoskadem Tepesi. It is listed in the inventory of the registered archaeological sites prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
