Waelkens on behalf of the Leuven Catholic University. And some remains of walls and tile fragments were found at the Beli Çali Mevkii to the east of the Koca Hill within the borders of the Çatagil Village. Particularly to the east of the hill; potsherds of the Sagalassos red slip ware and coarse ware from the Middle and Late Imperial Periods were collected from the surface. The finds are interpreted to indicate the presence of a village settlement from the Roman Period. It is indicated that in the Çatagil Village; some architectural elements were transferred from this ancient site. It is very likely that the necropolis; which includes grave chambers with arcosoliums carved into rocks; located on a hill so called Sandik Tas Mevkii to the east of the Çatagil Village; might have been belonged to the above mentioned ancient village.
