It lies to the west of the Mandira Mevkii; southwest of the Bodrum Peninsula of the Mugla Province. The agricultural terraces and workshop pavements yielded during the survey conducted by Diler in 2001 indicate the presence of an ancient settlement on the Asar Hill. The hill; presumably the acropolis; is enclosed by a a city wall pierced by a monumental entrance with a pitched roof. On the wall and the entrance; use of small stones as well as large blocks is interesting. On the basis of the monumental gate; roof system and features of façade; it looks like the chamber grave to the west of the settlement. Compared to the grave; which is presumably belonging to Pigres in Theangela; the masonry indicate the 5th century B.C. Some remains indicating workshops were unearthed at several spots; including a press weight of an oil workshop. To the west and south of the hill are terraces where civil structures were located on; and to the east rises a building; in fact a temple; which was converted into a cistern [Diler 2003:13-14]. Bean localized the Lelegian city; Termera on the Asarlik Hill (see Termera).
