It is located at the Bingeç Village; south of the Karacasu District of the Aydin Province. The Bingeç Village is accessible from the Yazir Village; and Yazir Village from Karacasu. The city minted coins during the 2nd century B.C. It seems that in early years it was more significant than Aphrodisias as the name Plarasa was recorded before the name Aphrodisias. However; it is believed that the ancient city of Plarasa lost her prosperity during the Roman Imperial Period [Erim 1986:29; 32; Sevin 2001:117]. |
