It lies to the south-southeast of the Akçaalan Village; west of the Bodrum District of the Mugla Province. It is accessible from Akçaalan after a 20-minute walking. The surveys conducted by Bean and Cook in 1950's yielded rock graves in the valley. One of them have a roof carved like a vault. It includes three chamasorions. Also identified are beams on the walls; and holes for door leaves on the doorways. They are compared with the rock graves in the villages of Gürice and Islamhaneleri (see Islamhaneleri and Telmessos); and it is suggested that they might have been extensions of the necropolis of Asarlik [Bean-Cook 1955:129]. |
