Koli Harabesi
Type:
Slope Settlement
Altitude:
m
Region:
Southeastern Anatolia
Province:
Adiyaman
District:
Kahta
Village:
Akçeveran
Investigation Method:
Survey
Period:

It is situated on a steep rock, overlooking the Euphrates River and the plain, and delimiting the floodplain 1 km southeast of the Akçeveran Village. Abundant number of sherds were found on a large area on a slightly inclining ridge delimited by two canyons. It seems that the settlement continues partially into the floodplain. Based on the sherds, the identified periods are Iron Age, Classical Age and Post-Classical Age. It can be concluded that it was a small village during the Iron and Middle Ages, and mainly inhabited during the Classical Period [Özdogan 1977:77-78].
