Only a limited number of Iron Age settlements could have been visited during the survey conducted in the Botan Valley and Çattepe due to security reasons. All the settlements except Yazlica Yani were founded on high terraces on the riversides. Presumably, they were flat, single-phase settlements, which didn't maintain previous traditions. Among the typical local pottery of the Iron Age are bowls with very prominent S-profile and inverted rims in different forms, and vessels with incision decorations on the band enclosing the body [Velibeyoglu et al. 2002:788]. |
