Located 1 km southeast of the Mazilik Village, 6 km east of Akpinar, south of the provincial district of Adiyaman prior to the construction of the Atatürk Dam, the settlement has been entirely obscured by the waters of the dam's lake. It was reported that the mound had approximately a 3 m thick deposit on the western bank of the Çakal Stream on a natural hill overlooking the stream. It was discovered in 1977 by M. Özdogan during the Survey in the Lower Euphrates Basin. Limited number of sherds belonging to the dark-faced burnished, dark-faced unburnished, chaff-tempered ware dating to the Chalcolithic Age were found. Also found are sherds dating to the Eraly Bronze Age, Iron Age, and post-Classical Period.
