It lies 9 km northeast of the Sakcagözü District, northwest of the provincial center of Gaziantep. The referral is Birtlan in some publications, and Bögürtlen Höyük in some others. It is indicated that Birtlan is a locally adapted form of (Blackberry) so that Bögürtlen is more accurate. It is a small mound located in the Sakçagözü Plain with a height of 5 to 7 m. It was reported that there were some fragments of basalt blocks on the surface in 1961 [Perrot 1962:16]. A surface collection was carried out in 1948 by J. du Plat Taylor, and by J. Perrot in 1961. The stratification is unknown as it has not been excavated yet. Surface collection yielded monochrome prehistoric sherds as well as sherds dating to the Iron Age and Roman Period. Sherds of grey-red surface colored, burnished ware are similar to those found at Coba Höyük/Sakçagözü I in the neighbourhood.
