It rests on a natural elevation on the first bench of the Euphrates. The southern section has been intercepted by the Euphrates. The sections indicate presence of a 15 m thick cultural deposit. It seems that it had been inhabited during many periods due to its strategical location. The eras identified on the mound are as follows: - Middle Chalcolithic Age - Late Chalcolithic Age B - Early Bronze Age - Middle-Late Bronze Age - Iron Age-Hellenistic Period (?) - Late Roman-Byzantine Periods and Medieval Age. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
