It lies approximately 2 km west of the Karaçor Village on the bank of the Kahta Brook, east of the provincial center of Adiyaman. The mound totally disappeared by submerging under the waters of the Atatürk Dam Lake. During the Surveys in the Lower Euphrates Basin conducted in 1977 under the direction of M. Özdogan, sherds of dark faced burnished ware, straw faced ware, coarse ware and Halaf-like ware were collected from the surface. The 5 m high and 99x100 m mound has been partially disturbed by the modern village. The main settlement probably was during the Late Chalcolithic Age. Also found are material from the First Bronze Age, Iron Age, Classical Age and post-Classical Age.
