It lies 7 km east of the Urfa-Akçakale motorway, 24 km northwest of Harran. It is 14 m high above the plain level, and 427.5 m high above the sea level with a conic form. The eastern slope has been destroyed by a road running in the north-south direction. It is a moderate size mound, measuring 30 acres in size, and 138 cubicmeter in volume. Based on the sherds collected from the surface, the following periods are as follows: - Chalcolithic Age (mainly sherds of Halaf, Ubaid, Uruk ware, knob-like stone objects and flintstones) - Early Bronze Age - Iron Age - Medieval-Islamic Period (glazed, plain ware with combed pattern) [Yardimci 2001a:47].
