This wide flat area is a headland extending south; where Tigris makes a wide meander; 8 km west of Suçeken Village and 4 km southeast of Çayüstü Village as the crow flies; south of Batman Province. Palaeolithic chipped stone tools were found during the survey conducted by H. Taskiran in 2004. There are 6 cores and 23 flake-blades among the finds. They generally show the characteristics of Lower Palaeolithic and partly Middle Palaeolithic. Code T61/6 [Taskiran 2006:208]. |
